For 20 years, the Archdiocese has provided Safe Environment training to help properly respond and prevent sexual abuse of children by those who serve the church. Anyone working or volunteering with children or youth is required to take an in-person training workshop provided for free by the Archdiocese. A new policy requires a refresher of this course every 5 years. If you have not taken this workshop, or wish to attend in-person for your refresher, we are hosting the training this Monday, August 29, at 6:30 pm in our Parish Community Center. The refresher course may also be taken online at https://louisville.cmgconnect.org/. Instructions to help set up your account may be found on our website under documents. Other in-person workshop dates can be found at www.archlou.org under the tabs About/Arch. Policies/Restoring Trust.

The purpose of the upcoming listening sessions we are holding in our parish is to consider what the Holy Spirit is saying to us in this time and place as we dialogue about our stories, insights, hopes and dreams for our Church. The purpose is not problem solving, planning, data gathering, or debate. Listening to the Holy Spirit and to each other can change our attitudes, inform our understanding and guide our behavior. Pope Francis hopes that this listening will “plant dreams, draw forth prophecies and visions, allow hope to flourish, inspire trust, bind up wounds, weave together relationships.” What a wonderful vision and opportunity for all of us!
